Lifetime Learning

Greetings to all our Lifetime Learning Participants & Friends of Snow Library Members!

The 2026 Spring Lifetime Learning Session will begin on Monday, March 16.

We are always so grateful for your support and it inspires us to keep trying to bring you the best courses that we can find. This upcoming session is once again packed with possibilities!

There are 25 courses … engaging presentations and live performances. We will discuss the American “dream”; join conservationists saving wildlife in Africa and Borneo; consider life in the universe; be thoroughly entertained pairing music and humor, and Tchaikovsky and Hamlet; look at religion and art as our country was founded; learn about Anna Marie Rosenberg, Robert Frost, and John Williams; consider the traditions behind Asian photography; and be delighted by the show-stoppers of Broadway.  We will also look at the status of politics, religion, gender-affirming care, and the vital resource of water in our world today.  There’s a forum course discussing immigration on the Cape; and the 2026-2027 Cape Symphony season will be presented. Your favorite presenters are back along with some fantastic new ones.

Open registration begins on Monday, February 9.  Most of our courses will be presented using a hybrid approach.  A hybrid means that courses will be presented simultaneously in person in the classroom (Snow Library’s Craine Room) and via Zoom.  Courses are from one to five classes in length and are presented Mondays to Thursdays.  The session runs for 8 weeks and ends May 7.

On February 9, course descriptions and registration information will be conveniently available online at www.friendsofsnowlibrary.org/lifetime-learning-program.  You can register online or pick up brochures and registration forms at Snow Library (67 Main Street, Orleans).  Your paper registration and donation can be mailed in or dropped off at the library.

Welcome to the Lifetime Learning Program sponsored by the Friends of Snow Library.

For over 30 years, our mission has been to provide continuing education and cultural enrichment for residents of the Outer Cape community. Lifetime Learning provides a Fall Session and a Winter/Spring Session each year with a diverse range of courses designed to appeal to a wide variety of interests. Classes are generally held at Snow Library.

Our presenters are acknowledged experts in their field. Each course is like taking a college tutorial for a small, suggested donation. We suggest a voluntary donation of $10 per course. Courses run from one to four classes in length and most are held during the day from 10:30 to noon or 1:30 to 3:00. Most classes are presented in person, via zoom, and also recorded for your convenience.  In addition to hearing loop technology in the Craine Room, all Zoom classes provide on-screen Closed Captioning of the sound.  The Closed Captioning of the program will also be viewable when watching the recording (and a full transcript of the audio can be downloaded and saved).
