In this course we review attempts by religious scholars to discern what is common to all religions. We begin with concepts like the Holy and Sacred, God and Gods, and Universal Morality. We then review individual and social theories of religion which highlight the personal dimension of religion on the one hand and institutional dimensions on the other.  We will end with a discussion of important differences between the various religions of the world.
