Scherman photographed musical, cultural and political events, including
the 1963 Newport Folk Festival, the March on Washington, D.C., the Beatles first U.S. concert, Woodstock, Robert Kennedy’s Presidential campaign, a Judy Collins tour, and the first recording by Crosby, Stills and Nash. He won a Grammy for his cover photo for Bob Dylan’s Greatest Hits and is well known for his iconic photos of John Lennon.
