Affirmative action policies over more than 50 years have tried to remedy past oppression and discrimination in our society. In this course, we will consider Supreme Court decisions in college admissions cases, examining the legal conflict between those who believe that the constitution must be color-blind and those who believe that constitutional decision-making must take race into account.
