Hopper was an American realist painter and printmaker of the 20th century. While widely known for his oil paintings, he was equally proficient as a watercolorist and printmaker in etching. Many places on Cape Cod appear in his work. He created drama out of commonplace subjects, inviting often unintended narrative interpretations. His paintings exude solitude, quiet, reflection and privacy – just as he lived his life. Beth will discuss the unusual life and famous works of this iconic American artist.
