Clark Gable (1901-1960) and Jean Harlow (1911-1937) were two early thirties film stars who teamed up for six films; this series showcases four of them. Years before Gable made his most famous film, 1939’s Gone with the Wind, his rising popularity met its match in an even younger spitfire of a performer. Sparks flew between them, and their collaboration hit its peak during the Pre-Code era, producing powerful dramas with an electric energy unsurpassed to this day. Marc will introduce each film, provide historical context and lead a lively discussion afterwards.
