The current term of the Supreme Court has been universally acknowledged to be the most significant term in decades. On the Court’s docket are cases involving abortion, gun rights, separation of church and state, voting rights, affirmative action, and possibly a number of significant legal issues arising out of the House Committee on the January 6th Insurrection. The fact that this is the first full term with six sitting conservative justices will give us a window into how the justices are going to align themselves around these issues and where this Court is likely to take the country at this critical time in our democracy.
