Ever since the Bolshevik revolution of 1917, the relationships between the United States and the Soviet Union/Russia has had its ups and downs. These two classes consider how the American attitudes toward the Soviet Union shifted away from a working alliance during the Second World War to an all-consuming ideological competition. They also demonstrate the tensions between two opposing views of interstate relations.
