Scott will continue our discussion and evaluation of the strength and fragility of American democracy and the rule of law as the consequential midterm elections approach. Will the January 6 Commission and its emerging details of the events leading up to January 6 and/or the decisions of the most recent Supreme Court term really energize the American electorate and influence its actions? If not, what are remedial actions, pro-democracy advocates can take, to keep the faith?
Note: Most polling indicates concern about the state of our democracy is not a priority of a majority of Americans or a factor in most elections, and so far, only the overruling of Roe has generated any evidence of potential electoral impact.
