The great 20th Century French painter and sculptor, Henri Matisse, rendered his artistic vision in several distinctive styles during his long career—chiefly Pointillism, Fauvism, Impressionism and the avant-garde medium of cut paper. Please join Beth Stein as we examine many of Matisse’s most important works from his early years, through his rivalry with Picasso, to his final form of artistic expression, the cut-outs, all of which have become synonymous with the name Matisse.
